About me: at the dawn of the 21st century, I found out about Chen style taijiquan.  After several years, I felt a need to learn more about Yang style, even though I hadn’t been too interested in it previously.  I make it a point to work on taiji, in some fashion, each and every day.  Don’t know just where the quest is leading me, but I plan to follow it wherever it leads!  To a better life, I’m hoping.

What else can I tell you?  I haven’t had much formal instruction in the martial arts.  But I have had some and I’m trying to force myself to get more, even though I’m by nature a loner.

Before I became interested in trying to learn taiji, I already had a strong interest in hard-style martial arts.  But since I was infrequent to seek out formal instruction, I tried to incorporate various gongfu modes into my lifestyle.

Obviously I am not big on sparring, since that would have tended to steer me towards teachers and classes more.  But hermit kung-fu may yet give way to combat training.  As I enter my second half-century of life, the thought of taking up fighting as a hobby makes me smile.  We’ll see if the thought becomes reality and if the smile remains.

But for the moment with taiji methods exploration, what I’m most interested in is “taiji in everyday life”.  No one ever said that the Tao ceases to apply when push-hands session is over.

A while back I installed some extracurricular links in my blog, pertaining to art, music, and such.  Just things that I think are interesting and possibly even relating to my taiji in some cases.  Click on them if you’re curious, or if you get bored with reading my blog.

You can e-mail me (below) if you wish.  Thanks for visiting, and if you wish, tell a friend about the weird taiji blog you found.
